Produktives Ostern...

Ostern hatte ich endlich mal wieder Zeit für mich. Karfreitag hatte ich zusammen mit Hildegard Prinz Aufsicht bei der Keramikausstellung. Das Wetter war gruselig wie mein "cracked head", es fanden sich trotz Regen doch ein paar Besucher. Freitag Nacht zeichnete ich dann ein relativ unbefriedigendes Portrait. Am Samstag hatte ich zuerst meinen Sinn für den lockernen Strich noch nicht gefunden. Das Portrait war einfach nur langweilig. Danach malte ich zwei kleine Ölbilder. Eines davon kann ich breits zeigen. Das Zweite muss nochmal bearbeitet werden. Gestern versuchte ich mich an einem großen Acrylbild. Mit Malmesser! Ich bin selbst total glücklich mit dem Ergebnis.

Easter, I finally had time for myself. Good Friday I was supervisor at the ceramic exhibition together with Hildegard Prinz. The weather was scary as my "cracked head". In spite of rain we could count a few visitors. Friday night I drew a  relatively unsatisfying portrait. On Saturday, I had not yet found my first sense of the loose line. The portrait was just  boring. Then I painted two small oil paintings. One of them I can show you. The second must be processed again. Yesterday I tried a large acrylic portrait. With a palette knife! I'm totally happy with the result.

Jörg Krühne, artist from Germany

Jörg Krühne, ein Künstler aus Deutschland hat mich auf seinem iOS Pad gezeichnet. Das Bild ist hier zu sehen. Es gibt aber auch ein Buch von Jörg Krühne über seine JKPP Portraits. Und ich bin auf dem Cover zu sehen. Ich habe mit einem kleinen 13 x 8 cm Acrylbild und zwei Skizzen im Moleskine zurückgeschlagen. Die Referenzfotos gibt es hier.

Jörg Krühne, an artist from Germany drew me on his iOS Pad. You can see the drawing in his flickr-portfolio. There is a new book outside from Jörg Krühne and his JKPP portraits. And I'm on the cover. I answered with a 5" x 7" acrylic portrait and two moleskine sketches. Here are the reference pics.

Nada Dietel schenkte mir diese Steinkugeln. Möglichst jeden Dienstag gehe ich zum Aktzeichnen in eine alte Emaille-Fabrik. Die Künstler hatten beim Ausräumen diese Kugeln gefunden. Ich denke sie dienten dazu das Glas zu mahlen. Jetzt wurden sie in Acryl gemalt.


Nada Dietel gave me this stone balls as a gift. If possible,  I go once a week to figure drawing in an old enamel factory. The artists had found this balls while cleaning out. I think they were used to grind the glass. Now they were painted in acrylic.

Seit einiger Zeit klicke ich mich durch die Blogs vieler daily painters. Besonders angetan haben es mir die kleinen Gemälde von Edward B. Gordon. Es fasziniert mich, die Entwicklung der Maler und die tägliche Herausforderung durch ein neues Motiv zu sehen. Gerne würde ich es nachmachen und ein tägliches kleines Kunstwerk abliefern. Leider wird mich meine tägliche Arbeit daran hindern. Deshalb will ich es, so oft ich kann versuchen. Ich hoffe, man kann bald meine Fortschritte erkennen. Ich male im Moment mit Acryl, zeichne mit Bleistift, Kohle und Kreiden. Auch am Aquarell hatte ich mich mit weniger Erfolg versucht.

For some time I click my way through the daily blog of many painters. I have particularly taken with the little paintings by Edward B. Gordon. It fascinates me to see the development of the painters and the daily challenge of a new subject. I would love to imitate it and deliver a daily work of art. Unfortunately, my daily work will stop this plan. Therefore, I will try it as often as I can . I hope we can see my progress very soon . At the moment I paint with acrylic , draw with pencil, charcoal and chalk.  I had also tried watercolor with less success.
